About the venture
Kodu collects banana and plantain residue from smallholder farmers, processes it into absorbent fibre and integrates it into pad production — yielding pads with up to 7-hour absorption, neutral pH and 0.8g rewettability. Distributed through schools, NGOs, pharmacies and distributors. Dual impact: additional income for farmers, plus a locally manufactured product addressing period poverty. Compost by-products close the circular loop.
