Nuvision Media Limited (Kenya) (hereinafter the “Company”) and the French-African Foundation (hereinafter the “Association”) attach great importance to the protection of personal data of applicants and participants in the Nova Garage programme organised in collaboration with the Nova Garage team and its institutional partners.

Data Collected

As part of its activities, the Company collects personal data such as names, contact details, professional information, and any other information provided during the application process or participation in its programs.

Processing Purposes

This data is collected for the following purposes:

  • —Management of applications and selection of participants;
  • —Organisation, administration, and monitoring of programs;
  • —Communication with applicants and participants;
  • —Promotion of program activities, subject to the data subject's consent where required;
  • —Assessment and evaluation of programmatic impact arising from the Nova Garage event, including longitudinal analysis of participant outcomes;
  • —Development and maintenance of program networks, institutional stakeholders, and collaborators;
  • —Aggregated statistical analysis and reporting for institutional and strategic planning purposes;
  • —Supporting institutional relations and fundraising functions using aggregated or anonymised information;
  • —Any other processing activities reasonably ancillary to the foregoing and consistent with program objectives.

Legal Basis & Applicable Framework

Personal data is processed in accordance with:

  • —The Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019 (DPA);
  • —Applicable data protection laws in jurisdictions where program activities are conducted.

Where multiple entities are involved in the delivery of the Nova Garage programme, personal data may be processed by collaborating organisations acting in accordance with applicable data protection laws and appropriate safeguards.

International Data Transfers

Data may be transferred to partners or service providers located in different countries, including outside the European Union and Kenya, subject to appropriate safeguards as required by applicable data protection legislation.

Data Retention

Personal data is retained only for as long as necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, unless a longer retention period is required by law.
